Myanmar Maid

Why Should you Hire an Myanmar Maid?

Myanmar maids are a trusted choice for many Singaporean families, valued for their gentle nature, good manners, and willingness to learn. While they may require more guidance at the beginning due to less exposure to English, they are often quick to adapt and improve with patient coaching. Employers appreciate their humble and respectful attitude, as well as their ability to follow instructions closely. Another advantage is their competitive salary, which is generally lower compared to Indonesian and Filipino helpers, making them a practical option for many households. With their positive attitude and eagerness to serve, Myanmar maids can provide dependable support in childcare, elderly care, and day-to-day household tasks.

Myanmar maids are known for their gentle nature, good manners, and willingness to learn. They are hardworking and often very respectful toward employers.

Many Myanmar helpers have basic English skills. While they may require more guidance at the start, employers often find them fast learners who improve steadily with daily use.

Most Myanmar maids do not speak Chinese or Malay, but some may have picked up basic phrases from previous work experience in Singapore. Their strength lies in being teachable and adaptable.

They are commonly experienced in childcare, elderly care, and general household chores. Some also come from rural farming backgrounds, which makes them hardworking and diligent in physical tasks.

The majority of Myanmar maids are Buddhist (around 87–88%), while only about 6–7% are Christian. In our agency’s experience, Burmese Christian maids are extremely rare.

They may take more time to adjust compared to helpers from co untries with stronger English backgrounds, but once settled, they are known to be loyal and committed.

Myanmar food is heavily influenced by Chinese and Indian cuisine, which makes it somewhat familiar to Singaporean households. Like Chinese cooking, Burmese dishes often include stir-fried vegetables, noodle soups, and rice-based meals. From Indian influences, you’ll find curries, lentil soups (dhal), and flatbreads. Examples of dishes similar to Singaporean food include Mohinga (a noodle soup, somewhat like laksa), Burmese-style fried rice, chicken curry, and stir-fried noodles, which overlap with flavors common in Singapore homes. While Myanmar helpers may not come with extensive cooking experience, their food culture provides a good foundation, and with some guidance, they can adapt quickly to local tastes.
